4 LibertyFest Parade
Over 50,000 people line the 1.5 miles route to see one of the states greatest Independence Day Parades. Get there early for a good spot. Bands, floats, marching groups, antique cars, clowns, round-up clubs, Shriners and more provide color and excitement to our annual parade. The LibertyFest Parade is a "Moving Show" dedicated to the celebration of the Birthday of this great country and the Heritage of this fine state. Parade entries shall be fun, entertaining, patriotic, family oriented and crowd pleasing. The Historic School House located at 124 East 2nd Street (On parade route) will be open during the parade hours. The community is invited to the dedication of "Russell Dougherty, World War II Memorial Statue" immediately following the LibertyFest Parade at Boulevard & Main. In partnership with the VAC, the statue is a life size bronze likeness of Russell Doughterty in his flight gear, mounted on a five foot pedestal.

4 Independence Day Celebration at Pelican Bay Aquatic Center
Celebrate Independence Day at the Bay! Enjoy fun games and prizes along with the attractions at Pelican Bay. Be sure to enter the "Cardboard Regatta", where an adult and child build a vessel out of only cardboard and duct tape. One member of the team must pilot it across the Bay! Don't worry there will be plenty of water rescue professionals on hand.

4 LibertyFest Parkfest & Fireworks
The kids will enjoy our Mega Obstacle Course, Black Beard's Revenge, The Rock, Laugh and Learn Toddler Zone, Treasure Island Bounce, Turtle Time Slide and a new carnival ride Jitterbug Swing ride. Also, plan to visit our booth that will provide; temporary hair coloring and faux tattoos (while supplies last). As always, plan to feast on traditional 4th of July food and ice cold drinks for sale by our vendors. Save room for FREE ice cold watermelon (while supplies last) sponsored by Earl's Rib Palace! Throughout the evening, enjoy the music provided by Ambiance, a local band that plays a variety of music. There will be something for everyone to enjoy! Plan to come early because all this fun and activities will end around 9:30pm to prepare for the fantastic fireworks show! While watching the Fireworks tune your radio to KCSC FM 90.1. The fireworks are synchronized to the music on that station. You are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket, since seating will not be provided. Additionally, we request that you leave your ice chests at home for security reasons and please do not bring your family pets to the event. 4 Russell Dougherty World War II Memorial Statue Dedication
The dedication speaker will be Oklahoma Attorney General Drew Edmondson. All are invited to join approximately 30 member of the extended Dougherty family representing several states, to include a few still residing in Edmond for this celebration. The statue is a life sized bronze likeness of Russell dougherty in his flight gear, mounted on a five foot pedestal. At the feet of the pedestal will be the memorial walk including paving bricks engraved with the names of some of Edmond's WWII participants.

6-10 Camp Cadence Summer Horse Camp
Our week-long camp sessions are for all levels of riders - there is no experience necessary! Campers are grouped accordingly by age and skill level. Hands-on instruction on proper horse grooming, tacking, bathing and most importantly, horse safety. We will also teach about parts of the horse, breeds, colors & much more! The week will include daily riding lessons, scavenger hunts, games on horseback, farm chores, fishing and fun horsey crafts! We will also have visits and demonstrations by a real equine veterinarian, an equine farrier and an equine dentist! This week concludes with a horse show for the parents.

7-9 "1889 Summer Camp"
The Edmond Historical Society & Museum presents its first ever, 1889 Summer Camp held at the Edmond Historical Schoolhouse. Make history this summer by enrolling your children is the exciting and educational summer camp. During the camp children will learn to write in pen and ink, have the camp lead by a real Schoolmarm, pretend and dress like their in 1889, make lye soap and homemade ice cream, and much more. On the last day of camp parents will be invited to share in the afternoon picnic and watch a skit the children prepared.
