December 14 Winter Night at the Children’s Safety Village
The Edmond Fire Department invites the public to come out and enjoy a Winter Night at the Children’s Safety Center.
Guests will be welcomed by Sparky the fire safety wonder dog as they enter the village which has been transformed by over 25,000 lights. From there, children will have an opportunity to build a toy in Santa’s Workshop provided by Lowes.
Families will also want to make sure to bring a camera as Santa himself will be available for pictures on an antique 1929 Fire Truck.
Other must-do items include grabbing free hot chocolate, listening to cold winter tales from story tellers and signing up for a free smoke alarm as part of the silent hero program.
Admission is free to the public for this event with most activities geared for children ten and under. Attendees are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item as part of a food drive for the Hope Center to benefit local residents in need.
