2022 Champions of Economic Impact in Sports Tourism

Each year Sports Destination Management, the leading publication with the largest circulation of sports event planners and tournament directors in the sports tourism market, has announced the 2022 Champions of Economic Impact in Sports Tourism. This year's winners are responsible for contributing a more-than-welcome boost of over $2.42 billion to the national economy over the past year.

Among the winners were National Little Britches Rodeo Association Finals at the Lazy E Arena and OSSAA Class 5A/6A State Swimming Championship. The National Little Britches Rodeo Association Finals rodeo was held at the Lazy E Arena this past July. This competition brought 1,430 contestants and an estimated $19.3 million into the Edmond economy.

The Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association held the Class 5A/6A State Swim meet at the Edmond School Aquatic Center at Mitch Park in February 2022. This brought 900 contestants and an estimated $1.4 million into the Edmond economy.
