Edmond Attractions, Historic Sites, Meetings & Route 66
The Edmond History Museum works to preserve the city's history and offer new ways to learn about the past. The museum's permanent exhibits include information and artifcats related to Native Americans, Pioneers and early Edmond. Agriculture, education, commerce, city government, athletics and religion are all touched on, as well.
With more than 39,000 photographs, documents and artifacts from the days of Oklahoma Territory, the 1889 Land Run, through today, the society and museum has a wealth of information for visitors to learn about our rich history.
The society and museum is housed in a historic building, the Old Edmond Armory. The armory was a WPA project built in 1936 and was put on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.
